Dr. Abdul is dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centered cardiovascular care.
Dr. Karim Abdul is a board-certified internal medicine physician joining Advanced Cardiovascular Specialists following the completion of his Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at Louisiana State University Health in Shreveport. He is dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centered cardiovascular care, with particular interest in complex coronary intervention and structural heart disease.
Dr. Abdul earned his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine before completing his Internal Medicine residency at HCA Healthcare/University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine GME at Brandon Regional Hospital. He went on to complete both his General Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology fellowships at LSU Health Shreveport. He has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and research presentations at national conferences, including the American College of Cardiology’s Annual Scientific Session, covering topics such as mechanical circulatory support, transcatheter valve interventions, and atrial fibrillation management. Dr. Abdul has also volunteered his time both locally and abroad, including work at a COVID-19 treatment clinic in Florida and a medical mission project in Roseau, Dominica.
